In 2010, on behalf of the committee, life member Richard Ewen is collating the most comprehensive history of Whitford Hockey Club possible and plans to produce a book.

He will be approaching most of the main players from the early days of the club to tap their memories but would also like to collect photos, news clippings and any other memorabilia from any period over the last 30 years.

Andrew Boyce and Betty Maas are back again this year to take senior men's and women's grass training at Macdonald Reserve.  First training night is Thursday 11 March at 6pm.  All senior grass players, including veterans, are welcome to dust off (or wash first!) the training gear and get back into the routine.  After all, the first game is only six weeks away!

It's the new year and the 2010 season is just around the corner.  Registration day has been booked for the clubrooms at Fleur Freame Pavilion, McDonald Reserve, cnr Marmion Avenue and Forrest Road, Padbury at 11am to 2pm on Saturday, 20 February.  New and old members are welcome to come along and register, although it will help if current members could pre-fill the registration forms which

We are very pleased to announce that former dual men's club champion Fabian Ross has accepted the appointment as senior turf coach for the ladies' Willow Bridge team. 

 

Fabs brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this role and is looking forward to guiding the ladies back into the top echelon in this grade. 

 

He is also very conscious of the need to develop younger members of the team, having been involved with juniors as a coach or team manager for most of his almost ten years at the club.
