Hin2H is a modified hockey program that caters for Kindy to Year 4 players, with teams usually being a mix of girls and boys (grouped in schools or with friends where possible).
The players learn basic skills through fun activities and game situations with the help of their volunteer coaches.
Teams are limited in size to allow for maximum participation and places can’t be guaranteed so please register early to avoid disappointment.
New players are welcome at any time during the season.
This group plays on Saturday mornings, starting at 8:30 am and finish at about 9:30 am. It is run at Warwick Hockey Centre, our home ground.
The first part of the session involves the team participating in activities where they learn and develop skills before playing a modified hockey game.
Players need to be at the fields by 8:15 am to allow coaches to maximise the limited time they have with the players.
Minkey players receive a coloured t-shirt as per their team’s colour, which is included in the registration fee.
GRADUATES: Year 1/2 & POST GRADUATES: Year 3/4
Both the Graduates and Post Graduate groups will have a training session on Friday evenings between 4:10 pm and 5:10 pm, at Warwick Hockey Centre. We are privileged to have access to the turf during this time which will allow our young players to develop both turf and grass skills.
From 5:30 pm, J11/12 games are played and the canteen/bar will be open, so families are encouraged to stay and watch some great hockey being played at our grounds.
On Saturday mornings, the Grads will play a modified hockey game on a ¼ grass pitch. They will play two halves, starting promptly at 8:30 am and finish at 9:20 am. Grad players receive a coloured t-shirt as per their team’s colours, which is included in the registration fee.
The Post Grads will start rostered games from 8:30 am, and finish at 10:30 am.
Initially, their games will be on a ½ sized field, with 9 players, and after a few weeks, they’ll begin to play on a ¾ field, with 11 players.
On occasion, they may play at a different venue if playing against another club.
Post Graduate players require a club playing shirt, which should be bought from the JDH store at Warwick Hockey Centre.
- Mid-Season Carnival – Grads will play games on a ¼ field while Post Graduates are introduced to the 1/2 playing field, with goalies.
- Relay for Life Hin2H Carnival – a fun way to finish off the season and raise money for a great cause. All games are played on 1/2 or ¼ fields.
Each team is asked to nominate a manager/s to deal with off-field organisation.
Any parent who wishes to coach a team should contact the H2H coordinator at registration day or via email: email@example.com. If you coach your child will have their registration fee waived.
Should a team need a coach from the club an extra fee, per player, is required towards the cost of the junior coach and it is recommended that this be paid up front to the team manager at the start of the season.
Parents who wish to volunteer their time assisting in the running of the Hin2H program or on the Hin2H Committee can contact the H2H coordinator at any time!!
