Whitford Hockey Club in Perth, Western Australia aims to be the premier hockey club in Perth’s northern suburbs. With teams in elite-level competitions such as Promotion 1 for men and Premier 1 for women Whitford Hockey Club offers the opportunity for even the most accomplished player to improve with the assistance of a professional coaching team and management.
The Club has a comprehensive strategic plan covering coaching, umpiring, volunteer and player development for both senior and junior pathways, facilities development and professional financial and administrative management. It is one of the largest clubs in Western Australia but retains a friendly, healthy community focus.
During 2014 the City of Joondalup gave approval for the development of a $6.5 million dollar turf, grass and clubroom development at Warwick Open Space. Something the club had been working towards for more than 7 years.
Construction will take place during the 2015/16 and 2016/17 financial years and we will be hoping for the facility to be ready for the 2017 winter season. This will be our new home and highlights the big plans in store for the club.
Whitford Hockey Club has a distinct junior focus with teams in all age groups, including minkey, and aims to assist players of any age, skill level or background to achieve their best, in a safe environment of fun, fellowship, family, participation and development.
Teams in men’s and ladies’ master grades and for the more social player are also provided within the club embracing a fun friendly atmosphere.
