About Us

Located within the metropolitan area of Perth Western Australia, Whitford Hockey Club aims to be the premier hockey club in the northern suburbs. The Club has a comprehensive strategic plan covering player development, coaching, umpiring, volunteering and facilities development and while we are one of the largest hockey clubs in Western Australia with close to 800 members, we remain faithful to our community based ethos and family values.

While we strive to be the best we believe that the game should be enjoyed by all and played fairly in a sprit of true sportsmanship. We believe that everyone can learn new skills and we offer a comprehensive set of development programs for our players, coaches and umpires.

The Club caters to all ages and abilities. With teams in senior elite-level competitions such as the Premier Div 1 for our men and ladies, we offer the opportunity for the most accomplished player to play at the highest levels in Perth and to continuously improve with the assistance of a professional coaching and management team. The Club has a distinct junior focus with players starting in our Pre-Junior program (school years Pre Primary – Year 4) which aims to assist players starting their hockey career in a safe and fun environment that encourages participation and development. Our Junior program (school years 5-12) aims to further develop players' skills and technical knowledge of the game with the introduction of games played on turf, as well as extension programs for those wishing to take their hockey to a higher level, to be able to compete for state team selection. The Club also has a large and vibrant Masters community with teams for both men and ladies across a wide age group, from Over 35s to Over 60s.

The Club can also boast having one of the best hockey facilities in the state, at the multi-million dollar Troy Puckard Hockey Centre, which consists of an artificial turf, two grass fields and ultra modern clubrooms.

But of course the glue that binds any community are the friendships that are forged amongst its members, and so member nights and other social events are a regular feature in the calendar.
